Terms

Terms of service

By using LoanGoose you accept these terms. They are deliberately plain: this is an information and matching service, not a lender, and not an adviser.

The service

LoanGoose publishes information about Canadian borrowing and operates a free matching service that passes your request to a partner network. We are not a lender, a broker of record, a credit repair organisation, an insolvency trustee, or a provider of financial, legal, tax or accounting advice.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the site for lawful purposes. You may not scrape it at a rate that degrades service, republish it wholesale, or use it to build a competing dataset.

No offer, no approval, no advice

Nothing on this site is an offer of credit or an approval. Any figures shown are illustrative rules or calculator outputs based on the numbers you enter, not terms available to you. Lenders decide their own rates, fees and criteria, and the lowest rates are only available to the most qualified applicants.

The content is general information. It does not take account of your income, obligations, objectives or risk tolerance, and it is not a recommendation. For decisions with significant financial consequences, consult a licensed professional — a mortgage broker, an accountant, a lawyer, or a licensed insolvency trustee where debt relief is being considered.

Accuracy and availability

Rules and rates change. We attribute every value to a publisher and show the date it was in force, but we cannot guarantee that a figure is still current when you read it, and you should confirm anything material with the regulator or lender before relying on it. The site is provided "as is" and we do not warrant uninterrupted availability.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, from reliance on information published on it, or from your dealings with any lender or partner. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Canadian consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

Third-party sites

Commercial links lead to partner sites that we do not control. Their terms, privacy policies and complaint processes govern your use of them. A link is not an endorsement of a particular rate or outcome, and the presence of a partner on the site does not mean we have assessed your suitability for their product.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the effective date below changes when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Effective date: 18 September 2026.

Is this a contract for credit?

No. These terms govern your use of the website. Any credit agreement is a separate contract between you and a licensed lender.

Are the calculator results binding?

No. They are estimates based on the figures you enter, using published rules. They are not quotes and not offers.
