Affiliate disclosure

The short version: using this site costs you nothing, and we may be paid by a partner if you take a product through one of our links. Here is the detail.

What an affiliate link is

Some links on this site lead to a partner's own website and carry a tracking parameter that identifies LoanGoose as the source of the click. If you go on to take a product, the partner may pay us a commission. This is a standard affiliate arrangement, and it is how the site is funded.

Every commercial link on the site is marked rel="nofollow sponsored", opens in a new tab, and sits beside a visible disclosure. Our /order/ links redirect to the partner with your browser's referrer suppressed.

What it does not change

It does not change what we publish. Partners cannot buy a better explanation, the removal of a warning, or a place in a guide. Where a product is expensive or unsuitable for most people — short-term payday-style credit is the clearest example — the product page says so prominently, on the same page as the comparison step.

It also does not change the cost to you. We do not add a fee to anything, and we do not set, negotiate or influence the rate a lender offers you.

Why we show a comparison step rather than a ranking

We do not publish a "best lender" league table, because we cannot verify one honestly: we do not see the rates individual readers are offered, and rankings of that kind are usually paid placements wearing a lab coat. What we publish instead is the rule set, the cost basis and the questions to ask, plus a matching step that lets partners present their own terms to you.

Not a lender, not advice

We are a loan matching and comparison service, not a lender. We do not make loans, set rates, or make credit decisions. Nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice. The lowest rates are only available to the most qualified applicants.

Does clicking a partner link cost me more?

No. The rate and fees a lender offers you are theirs, and they are not increased because you arrived from this site.

Do you only show partners who pay?

We show a comparison step for products where we have a partner. The education, calculators and sourced rules pages carry no commercial link requirement and are published whether or not a partner exists for that product.

How do I know which links are commercial?

Every outbound commercial link is marked as sponsored, opens in a new tab, and has a disclosure next to it. Links to regulators and publishers are not commercial.
